Results
Using factor analysis in SPSS, the nine attributes (protein content,
carbohydrates, nutrition, taste, smell, consistency, satisfaction, variety
and value for money) were reduced to two or three factors to be represented
on a perceptual map.
Segment 1: Three major factors - Health
(protein, nutrition, consistency, satisfaction), Sensory
(taste, smell) and Other (carb, variety)
explained
77% of the variation in the data.
Segment 2: Two major factors - Health
(protein, nutrition, satisfaction) and Sensory (taste, smell) explained
90% of the variation
in the data.
